AR Launch there new Live For Speed server !!!!!!

The time has come and the new AR server is now LIVE. We will be running the W17 test patch until ‘X’ becomes official so jump on the server and tear the place up.

Keep an eye out over the next few month for some ’special events’ brought to you by AR like the good ol Jump Time and some new AutoX events :)

Big thanks goes out to MPR for making all this possible.

The final race for the 2006 AAL season was the "AAL 12 Hour". This event used the GTR class cars at the venerable Aston North circuit. It was to be a test of stamina and team organisation as the only communication allowed was radio communications via Teamspeak, Ventrillio etc. Congratulations to Pacifica Racing for taking out 1st place, with Austra Racing taking out 2nd place, and Premium Racing Team with the final podium position.

Special thanks to Bugle from Southern Cross Racing for jumping in to fill a spot in the 12 hour team.

Well the Australasian League GTR 2006 series has been run and won, and I am pleased to announce that our very own Righteous took the crown of the GTR 2006 Champion.

It was an interesting series for Righty to say the least, in the first round at Aston National Reverse he decided it would be a good idea to take the FXR, this was a choice Righty would regret, in this round he placed 14th in Division A, after this result he vowed to not drive the FXR for the rest of the series.
On to round 2 at Westhill, here the result was much better with Righty taking 2nd place Division A, in this round we also had Gizmo take 1st place in the same division. In Division B Austra Racing also had a good result with Knappo taking 1st place, and Dan_G taking 2nd place.

Round 3 at Kyoto National was to be Righty’s first race win for the series, in this race Righty took the lead early on and was then un-challenged for 36 laps before a server crash ended the race, as the race had completed better than 70% race distance Righty was awarded 1st place. In Division B we also saw Flappa take 1st place.

Round 4 was to be set at the very technical track, Fern Bay Gold. Here we saw Righty take 3rd place in Division A, behind Scottie and Bugle, both members of SCR (Southern Cross Racing). In this round the next highest finisher from Austra Racing was Shaun.

Round 5 we all took a trip down memory lane at the original Live For Speed track called Blackwood. Here Righty had an average race, placing in 8th place.

Round 6 was the first of the 3 Hour, 2 driver endurance races which was held at the Kyoto GP track. In this event Righteous paired up with fellow team mate  Boxhead, they placed in 2nd position after 3 hours of fast paced racing, only to be bettered by the driver pairing of Scottie and Bugle from SCR.

Round 7 was at South City Long, another very demanding track requiring great concentration to keep your car off the walls. Here our man Righty finished in 1st place again, with Bugle of SCR coming in 2nd, and Shaun from Austra Racing coming in 3rd place.
The final event for the GTR 2006 series was another 3 hour, 2 driver combo held at Aston GT. In the final event for the series the combo of Righteous and Boxhead finished in 2nd place, only to be bettered again by the combo of Bugle and Scottie from SCR.

Congratulations Righteous from all the guys at Austra Racing on winning the GTR 2006 series.

Final Standings.
1. Geoff Saville (Righteous) Austra Racing – 780.5
2. Thomas Armstrong (Bugle) Southern Cross Racing – 775
3. Ian Stanley (StanDaam) Premium Racing Team – 758.5
4. Shaun Devaney (HRT SHAUN) Austra Racing – 734
5. Ben Tully (wabbit) Middle Pack Racing – 732

Also thanks to the admins from the Australasian League for running Australia’s premeir Live For Speed league.

Today is a sad day for Australian motor racing fans, Peter Brock aged 61 has been killed while racing in the Targawest rally in Western Australia. Brock rose to public attention in touring car racing, winning the Bathurst 1000, Australia’s most well know domestic motorsport event. In total Brock won the event 9 times through the 1970s and 80’s.
As the lead driver for the Holden Dealer Team, racing Holden Toranas and later on Holden Commodores, Brock became a household name known by all Australians.

R.I.P Peter Brock 1945-2006.

Austra Racing have been watching and waiting for a couple of new drivers to enter the, already strong, AR ranks. Before the Ky national round we picked up Dan G. Dan had been showing great pace in the 2nd division and since joining the team has been in Div A ever since. A couple of unfortunate incidents and miss understanding have left Dan wanting, but when he settles in, we believe Dan is going to be a force to be rekoned with.

Last week AR also invited Plastik8 to joint the team. Much like Dan we have kept a close eye on this Plastik, we think he has the right stuff to help make AR a stronger team, both with his attitude racing.

So welcome to both the boys, I hope you both get as much out of this team as the rest of us already do. :)

AAL round 4

Fern Bay is a bit of a bogey location for a few of our drivers. Knappo and Righteous openly admit that things just seem to go wrong. After the last round of the AAL we are likely to see a few more AR drivers join the list of "unfortunate" victims of the Fern bay universe.

For the first time the AAL was attempting a reverse grid format. The meet would include one "normal" race followed by a reverse grid race. Each race consisted of 20 laps of the Fern Bay green layout.

Division A went well for the AR lads, Righteous nabbed pole for the second time this season and Gizmo was narrowly nudged out of an AR 1,2 when OZ-beer Blowtus pulled a PB out of his tail pipe in the final moments of qual.

Race 1 didnt go spectacularly well for any of the AR boys. Gizmo had to pull out with "sterring problems", boxhead managed to bring himself undone, Dan G didnt have the best race and even though Righteous took victory in the first race, he to had his moments.

Race 2 was pur chaos and with the entire grid turned on its head you were going to need more than just pure pace. Lady luck needed to be on your side if you were going to come from the back of the grid to take a win in this one. Shauns unfortunate result in race 1 has him towards the pointy end in race 2. He drove a great race and achieved his first podium in AAL with a 3rd place. Boxhead made up for a horrible race 1 to eventually bring home his FZR in 4th, RIghteous had all the work to do and managed to claw his was from last on the grid up to 8th.

Overall standing for the night were as follows.

99 Scottie + 3 = 102
97 Bugle + 2 = 99
96.5 Righteous + 1 = 97.5
96 HRT SHAUN
95.5 StanDaam
95 wabbit
94.5 ReppohC
93.5 Enforcer-J
93 Boxhead
93 _Charles_
91.5 Y-noT
87.5 Sp33dracer
88 eMPee
45 TIMMY30
44 Cetram
43 Blowtus
42.5 dan_lfs

Div B, the reign comes to an end, just.

The long winning streak of AR victories in Div B have come to an end, but the boys did put up a tremendous fight. Qualifying saw flappa in his FZR take 4th, in race 1 he managed 4th, race 2, 4th. Thanks to some flying tyres knappo had a bad race 1, race 2 he managed a strong 3rd and salvaged some points from the tough round.

76 TassieDevil + 3 = 79
76 flappa + 2 = 78
76 schmickle + 1 = 77
75 Threeps
74.5 VIPEROSI
72 dvestate
71.5 brads82
71 KNAPPO
71 Unforgiven
70 Plastik8
69.5 h00ligan
69 wildz0r
68 confuzion
66.5 Vilante 11
66 plague
39 r8response

Series standings at halfway:
Unfortunately Gizmo’s wheel troubles have all but ended his chances at a top 3 finish in the series, after the last round gizmo has fallen out of the lead, and one woudl think, out of contention.

At the halfway point the top 5 positions look like this.

1 Michael L (ReppohC) Premium Racing Team 389.5
2 Ian Stanley (StanDaam) Premium Racing Team 389.5
3 Geoff Saville (Righteous) Austra Racing 388.5
4 Thomas Armstrong (Bugle) Southern Cross Racing 385
5 Shaun Devaney (HRT SHAUN) Austra Racing 384

We still have 2 drivers capable of taking out the number one spot, with 4 rounds to go who knows what could happen.

See you next round at Blackwood reverse.

Just when you thought it couldnt get any better, AR once again, gives the AAL the ride of its life.

The Location : Kyoto Ring National.
The Time: 8:30pm
The Result:
ARed!

Round 3:

As mentioned early in the week, AR had a massive 7 representatives in Division A of the AAL GTR 2006 series for round 3. It was our best ever showing and equaled that of PRT from round 2, however due to some late withdrawals Flappa was relegated back to division B. Leaving "only" 6 drivers in A. Regradless of the numbers, we had a tremendouse chance to up the anti once again and continute our wining ways.

Qualifying for Division A went well for the AR boys, with Righteous and Gizmo occupying 2nd and 3rd on the grid, the Div B master, Knappo, brought it like no other cheerleader had brought it before him and pulled out one hell-of-a lap out to qual 5th with a new PB. Boxhead, in his AAL return, blew off the rust to come in 7th, followed by Shaun in 10th, and Dan G in his first drive for AR in 12th. Incidentally, Dan G was only the 2nd XRR behind SCR’s Bugle, great effort Dan in a car not suited to Qual.

Race: Can you win a race at t1? yes and no!

All over at t1

For Righteous t1 could not have gone any better in regards to a race win, with his two closest challengers, Reppoh C [PRT] and Gizmo taking each other out. This held up the rest of the field and allowed Righteous to grab a good buffer almost instantly. For the rest of the race Righteous drove an error free race and finished 30+ seconds infront of his nearest rival for his maiden AAL win :)

Our quiet achiever this round surely must be Shaun. whilst not having a great deal of preperation for this round, Shaun was very familiar with the car and after getting his head wrapped around a good set, seemed to find his rythym very quickly. Shaun drove a very solid race and managed to climb his way up throught the madness and take 4th. A really top drive mate form tenth on the grid, well done.

T1 cost Gizmo and Boxhead dearly, the two drivers found theselves at the very rear of the field and with much to do. Both drove great races, with small errors here and there costing them some time, but in the end, both drivers had great fun picking their way through the field. WD boys, great drive. Gizmo brought his FZR home in  6th, followed closely by Boxhead in 7th.

Dan G, had a an impressive drive for an A debut, unfortunately for Dan an error in judgement saw him stay out on his tyres for too long. As so often happens, the front right let go on the opposite side of the track, meaning he had a looong way to travel to get back to the pits. Before his tyre let go, Dan was sitting in 2nd. Incredible drive mate, hope to see more great results from you :) In the end Dan finished 10th. Great drive!

The Div B master had an up and down ride, some errors here and there cost Knappo some time but all in all, it’s fair to say that he was very pleased with a top 10 finish, eventaually Knappo rolled in 8th.

The night ended on a rather bizzare note with the server crashing and booting all the drivers. As per AAL regualtions though, the field had completed sufficient laps for the race to be declared. For all those savy investors out there, now might be a good time to invest is some logitech shares as I feel their sales may increase substantially this week :)

But wait, there’s more: Move over Knappo, there’s a new Div B master in town.

We all thought it "could" happen, we imagined that if the stars were aligned right, it "may" just be possible, but  none of us ever believed we would see it in our life times, but somehow, Flappa (The miracle man) got that big fat FXR over the line for the win (FTW!!!!!!).

Flappa was a little dejected after narrowly missing out on a Div A run, but in true AR style he sucked it up and went out to show em what he was made of.

Qualifying went as good as could be expected with Flappa achieving a strong result with 3rd on the grid behind 2 FZR’s.

That Winning Moment (Brilliant)

Flappa’s race went very well, he drove very solidly and gave himself every chance of winning. In what can only be described as truely ballsy move, on lap 32 Flappa made a decision that would eventually give him the race win. During his pitstop, Flappa only changed 2 tyres instead of 4 like the rest of the field, this was enough to give him a 13 odd second lead over the field. Flappa would never be headed, in the end he nurtured his FXR home and took the chequered flag. A truly stunning drive mate, just imagine what you could do if you were driving a real car ;)

In Division A, AR filled 6 of the top 10 spots, Awesome!

Div C: The ride continues.
Well if Flappa is the new Div B master than surely Plague is the master of C. After winning division C last round, plague continued on his winning ways taking out the race win and, yet again, completing a clean sweep for AR. Great drive Plague, hope to see you move up the ranks into B next round.

So another round done and dusted, AR have yet again proved they are really in a zone at the moment. Team spirit is high and the boys are having a real blast. Congrats once again and may the merry times roll on ;)

Righty.

Austra Racing muscle 6 drivers into Division A

As the clock struck 12, AR’s presence in the AAL seemed to step up to a whole new level. On wednesday night Austra Racing will have a massive 6 drivers representing the team in Division A, what an outstanding effort from the lads.

In order of qualifying the drivers are.
Dan G (in his first race for AR, well done mate)
Righteous
Gizmo
Boxhead (Great to see you back mate)
Shaun
Knappo (Steps up to the division A plate)

It could have very easily been 7 drivers for AR but flappa missed out by 1% on making it into the division. Shonky will join flappa in division B and he will be looking for a solid run. Blake and Plaque will be representing the team in division C.

Good luck to all the lads, we have a great chance to build a solid gap on the competition this round, and some genuine chances for race wins across all the divisions where we have representatives. Good luck to the boys, lets AR em once again.

*EDIT* This just in, AR’s flappa has been bumped up to Division A after Shonky had to  pull out. That makes 7 in Division A. Good luck guys :)

Austra Racing is proud to annouce the joining of Dan G to the team. Dan put in a stellar drive in his debut AAL race in Division B at Westhill, picking up 2nd place, he showed great skill for his 1st AAL race and we are honoured to have him aboard.

From all of the members at Austra Racing, welcome aboard, we look forward to racing with you.
